
BMW Australia is the entry to bring its 1 Series line-up in the sub-$ 50k range, with the introduction in May of the BMW 120i Coupe.
With prices from $ 47,400 (plus on-roads), the 120i coupe will slot into the range below the current entry-level six-cylinder 125i, which starts at $ 55,600 for the six-speed version.
The 120i Coupé is the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine driven in part, designed for performance 115kW and 200 Nm of torque.
In hatch form, the fuel consumption of 7.9 l/100 km in the combined cycle. The 120i Coupe will likely return similar figures.
While the cheapest model of the 1 Series Coupé range of the 120i is well equipped. The standard 17-inch alloy wheels, sports seats with electric adjustment and Boston leather upholstery, a leather sports steering wheel, cruise control and parking sensors are back.
Other features include fog lamps standard in the 120i, 60:40 folding rear seat, a storage package, rain sensors, audio system with six-speed Bluetooth and USB connectivity and the usual BMW active and passive safety.
