
A facelifted 2012 Jaguar XF sedan revealed along with a new 2.2-liter four-cylinder turbo diesel engine in the upcoming 2011 New York Auto Show.
The UK has undergone carmakers released teaser images of the 2012 XF tests with the new TDI engine, 188 horsepower and 332 pounds-feet of torque.
Jaguar said the engine is equipped with an intelligent start / stop system, gives an average 44 mpg on the European combined cycle.
Coupled with a new ZF eight-speed automatic transmission, the TDI engine enables the 2012 XF will accelerate from 0 to 60 in under 8.5 seconds. Top speed is 140 miles per hour.

Jaguar said the test pictures are from a prototype vehicle development, “adding that the new diesel engine will debut” in a future production vehicle XF “in the New York Auto Show.
A Jaguar spokesman told Inside Line on Friday: “Unfortunately, the 2.2 diesel will not come to the United States in the near future the current market and regulatory framework to prevent this ..”
