Jeep Australia has announced the local version of the updated-for-2011Jeep Patriot SUV, after the international launch in September last year.
For 2011 Jeep Patrior is the compact SUV a new front bumper with fog lights as standard, along with a new rear bumper, 17-inch alloy wheels and four new colors.
The interior of the Patriot also see a modest update for 2011, picking up new soft plastics and a new steering wheel with steering wheel controls.
Mechanical updates are limited revisions to the steering and suspension tune.
The Patriot operator remains unchanged, with an output from a 2.4-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with 125 kW at 6000 rpm and 220Nm of torque at 4500rpm.
Two transmissions are available: a five-speed manual and a CVT automatic gearbox. Chrysler active on-demand “Freedom Drive” system is also evident, including options to lock mode.
Fuel consumption is listed at 8.4 l/100km for the manual transmission, the CVT and 9.1 l/100 km.
The 2011 Jeep Patriot include standard features powered, heated and folding mirrors, immobilizer, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls and tilt column.
There is a new center armrest, premium front bucket seats, illuminated door, window and power mirror controls, and – for the Limited trim – Standard automatic temperature control.
Chrysler UConnect Voice Command is now available as an option.
Standard safety features include driver and front passenger airbags and curtain airbags. Additional driver and front passenger seat-mounted side airbags are optional ($ 550, along with tire pressure monitor).
The updated 2011 Jeep Patriot also get four wheel ABS disc brakes, hill-start assist and electronic stability control system with Brake Assist, traction control, Electronic Roll Mitigation and Brake lock differentials.
Jeep Enhanced Accident Response System is an important feature of the new model, turning on interior lights and alarm, doors opening and closing of fuel in the event of a collision causing the air bag.
